“ Was in from out of town with my girlfriend. I had seen a YouTube video on the place and trusted my instinct to make it a priority visit. I didn't order anything from the menu. I simply asked the amazing women who run this place to provide me with a meal of their choosing to share with my lady and a price they thought would be fair. I was treated to one of the most exceptional meals and experiences of any restaurant I've been to ANYWHERE in the world. Every bite satisfied. Every story they shared with us was wonderful. The food nearly made me cry with joy (which i was told WAS NOT ALLOWED) upon my first bites of the fried fish and fish soup we were served. This place will be mandatory on every return visit to Seattle moving forward. Thank you for cooking with such love. I could taste it in every bite. ”
“ Thank me later, the one main thing to order: Salmon Sinigang Ladies working were super nice and I’ve tried the other dishes but the Salmon Sinigang is the true star of this place. Fish fresh directly from pike place market makes it one of the best! P.S. Several US TV shows have featured this store on television and they all raved about the Salmon Sinigang. ”
“ The fried bangas fish was a must get. Smoked, fried, deboned, and fully edible including the fish head (although that was the saltiest part). The longanisa, aka Filipino chorizos, are also a must: sweet, salty, and tender on the inside. The sinigang fish soup was a sour but hearty salmon soup. The pork lumpia egg rolls were also fried just right, although they could be more hot. We'd skip the chicken adobo which was a lukewarm drumstick. Service was especially kind and patient, despite what all the funny signs might indicate. The atmosphere was fun and inviting. ”
“ I’m an island boy. Born, raised. I still live on an island off the coast of America called: The Republic of New York City. I have been eating here for 14 years, once or twice a year on trips. It’s the first and last meal I have in Seattle. Half the reason is because Atty reminds me of my mom/ Lola, whom both have passed on to the next level of existence. The other half is because it’s tasty AF. All of it. Yes, as a NYer- we can get Flip food back home. But you won’t get this kind of salmon. PNW salmon hits different. You also won’t get the woman who you know is like family back home. The epitome of mom/pop/shop keeper. Talk to her. She will remember you, even years later. She’s an icon. Eat here as much as you can while here. Because we must support her. Because this, like all great things in life is not forever. Because, if you’re like me, can’t cook this in your tiny apt. Because everything is not only good, but takes you back in time- when things were simple. If you’re an island person, it’s our responsibility to support. And it’s important that you remember where we came from, and her food will remind you. ”
“ Its not a sit down restaurant, but they serve the BEST Salmon Sinigang dish ever! (filipino version of Salmon sour soup). They get their fish fresh from pike place! They sell out so try to get it early! ”
“ Absolutely the best food in Seattle!! Dinuguan and longanisa are a must try dishes. Dinuguan is a type of pork soup with semi strong flavor, longaniza is sweet but full of flavors as well. Make sure you pour some vinegar on it!! Trust Ate Lei and she will feed you with yummy food! Amazing place ”
“ Definitely a hidden gem. The food is so good. You have to try the salmon soup. Big punch of flavor! Also seating can be tight as it is counter sitting. Recommend getting a seat then go order food. ”
“ Amazing food! This is by far, hands down the best food you can get at the Pike Place Market located downtown Seattle. The Oriental Mart offers exceptionally great service that you can’t find anywhere else. If you haven’t had a chance to eat the chicken adobo you’re definitely missing out. I highly recommend checking this place out, and taking time to dine in the open hall seating as everything is so lively and vibrant! ”
